Breathe

10 April 2024

During the mid-semester break, it is important to take some time to breathe - reflect, rejuvenate, prepare, and reach out for support before the second half of the semester.

Reflect - Take some time to reflect on how you have delivered your course, the strategies you have used to increase student engagement, and the learning resources you have available for students. What has been working well? What could be improved? What support do you need from Teaching Quality (teaching.quality@lincoln.ac.nz) to help you make changes to improve the effectiveness of your delivery?

Rejuvenate - Prioritise self-care. This will help to sustain energy and rejuvenate your enthusiasm for the second half of the semester. Refer to the Staff Wellbeing page on the Hub for more information.

Prepare Take some time to plan and prepare for the second half of the semester. Upload learning resources, write your remaining assessments including your marking rubrics, send assessments for moderation, and write and review lesson plans incorporating any changes from your reflection.

Reach out - Reach out to colleagues to share experiences and ideas. Contact Teaching Quality (teaching.quality@lincoln.ac.nz) to see how they can assist you.

The Teaching Quality team is here to help you with any aspect of your teaching and course delivery. Come along to one of our drop-in sessions or contact us (teaching.quality@lincoln.ac.nz) to make an appointment.
