Helping students develop their academic skills
28 July 2022
The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CeLT) in LTL has a team of experienced and dedicated Learning Advisors that can help all your students to consolidate and enhance their academic skills needs.
The Learning Advisors offer a wide variety of introductory and advanced workshops on study skills, time management, addressing assessment tasks effectively, academic writing, research design, data analysis and management, to name but a few.
What would we like you to do?
Please make your students aware of the support that is available. Especially mention the array of workshops that have been designed for the benefit of all students. Access details about available workshops and events. Scheduled workshops show in the Calendar and Upcoming Events on Te Kete Wānaka.
A sample of upcoming workshops (often with online and on-campus options) include:
- The what, why and how of research data management (Aug 1 @ 10.00 am)
- Writing at university: essay and report structure (Aug 3 @1:10 pm)
- Reading critically for assignments (Aug 10 @ 1:10 pm)
- Introduction to statistics (Part 1) (Aug 11 @ 11:30 am)
In addition, are you aware that Learning Advisors can also tailor any existing workshops or resources, or design new ones, to suit your students and your course assessment? Workshops can be held during class time or as optional extras for your students.
Finally, please make students aware that Academic Skills Drop-in (L003) and Careers Pop-in (L022) have returned and are now available without the need to book. Days and times are shown in the Calendar.
Please contact Caitriona Cameron (Caitriona.Cameron@lincoln.ac.nz) to discuss how Learning Advisors can assist your students to develop the academic skills they need for success in your course.
